The good news is that Parisian style is mostly about a state of mind - enjoying life and recognizing that fashion should be fun. She also shares secrets for injecting Parisian style into your home and some of her favorite Parisian shops. Sadly, I have no plans to visit Paris in the near future, so I'll have to live vicariously through her charming descriptions for now.
In terms of wardrobe, chic Ines believes there are seven essential pieces that every stylish wardrobe should have:
- The blazer
- The trench
- The navy sweater
- The tank
- The little black dress
- The perfect jeans
- The leather jacket (of course this should be faux!)
This time of year in Seattle, I would probably add a turtleneck and a scarf to the list, but really you can do a lot with these items.
The photographs in the book make effortless style look, well, effortless! Here are some additional images I found online for the 7 "essentials". Enjoy!
The Blazer
The book showed navy/black as a staple.
But I like this nude option too.
The "boyfriend" style is great to
throw on over dressier clothes.
The Trench
Always a classic.
The Navy Sweater
This image is from the book - love this look!
The Tank
Can be dressed up or down.
The Little Black Dress
This image is from the book as well.
The simpler, the better, according to Ines!
The Perfect Jeans
There are so many washes and styles now!
The Leather Jacket - faux of course! Vegan leather jacket by Free People |
